A trial court in Uganda today dropped the charges against burgeoning Nigerian singers, Omah Lay and Tems.
The singers were arrested on Sunday, December 13 and charged with committing “acts likely to cause the spread of an infectious disease, Covid-19” following the illegal concert at Ddungu resort in Munyonyo with large crowds as the country is in lockdown.
They were arrested in the Makindye Division Court on Monday December 14 and remanded in custody in various prisons until Wednesday December 16.
Following an outcry from Nigerians and some diplomatic demarches by the Nigerian government, the charges against them have now been dropped.
